Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a monument company with a physical address, or are you just an internet site?

- We are a monument company with a physical address.  We are located at 1702 Superior St. Webster City, IA 50595.  We have a local storefront where we sell and display upright headstones and cemetery markers, as well as store our trucks, trailers,  installation materials, and other equipment.

How do I begin the process of ordering a headstone?

-The first step is to determine what type of memorial is accepted by the cemetery.  We would then suggest perusing our website, and email us asking for a drawing by CLICKING HERE.

Do you offer a guarantee on your headstones?

- Yes, all of our memorials come with a Certificate of Guarantee which guarantees that the memorial is free of any natural defect, and should a defect develop, the headstone or cemetery marker would be replaced.

Do you have brochures that could be mailed to me?

- Yes, for some of our products.  Either give us a call at 1-800-947-8232, or e-mail us your address by CLICKING HERE, and we would be glad to mail you information on any product you might be interested in.  Please indicate what product you are interested in, in your e-mail.

How do I pay for my headstone?

- Payment can be made via credit card over the phone or we also accept personal checks or money orders sent through the mail, whatever is most convenient for you.

Do you have a payment plan?

- We are willing to open up accounts for customers who would like to make monthly payments (it is up to the customer how much is paid each month). We ask that full payment is made within 6 months of the date of the order.  However, headstones and grave markers will not be placed into production until full payment is received.  On larger more expensive memorials we will place a monument into production, if half payment is received.  The headstone will not be shipped until the full balance has been paid.  Please call us at 1-800-947-8232 with any questions.

What is included in the prices of the headstones and grave markers on your website?

- The prices on the website include the cost of the memorial, as well as standard lettering.  There is an additional fee for carving and lettering on the back of an upright headstone.  When you place a drawing request, a shipping quote will be given to you, based on the size of memorial you are interested in.  Many websites claim to have "free shipping," in most cases the cost of shipping merely has been rolled into the price of the memorial.  We invite you to shop around, and are confident that in many if not most instances our memorial price plus shipping is less expensive than the sites that offer their memorials with "free shipping."

Who will take care of the final death dates on my headstone when it is needed?

- Usually this is arranged by the funeral home at the time that it is needed.  If a stencil is needed for a headstone or marker that we have sold, please contact us at 1-800-947-8232, and the stencil will be supplied free of charge with a nominal shipping fee.

Is it possible to use characters from a foreign language on my headstone?

- Yes, it is possible.  We ask that you supply "camera ready" text for languages that do not use the english alphabet.  Call 1-800-947-8232 with any questions or concerns.

Your prices are often lower than other companies that I've contacted, does the low price reflect lower quality?

- We are very thankful to be partnered with a granite supplier who has negotiated a significant discount with a major quarrier.  They pass the savings on to us in the granite we purchase, and these savings are then passed on to you.  The headstones and cemetery markers we sell are guaranteed to be of the highest quality, and free of any natural defects.

Product Questions- Markers and Headstones

Do your bronze memorials come with a granite base?

No, the prices on the bronze memorials, are for the bronze only.  We encourage customers to check with the cemetery to determine their prices on granite for mounting the bronze.  We do offer granite bases at reasonable prices, if it is needed.

Are your engraved bronze markers as durable as the traditional cast bronze markers?

- Yes.  In fact our engraved bronze memorials are three times stronger than traditional cast bronze markers, as they are cold pressed, rather than being molten and poured into a mold.

Can I e-mail you the pictures I want placed on my engraved bronze marker?

- Yes, you may e-mail photos to us.  If it is a scanned image we recommend scanning at a minimum of 300 dots per inch.  Often times customers send us their original photos in the mail, and we scan and edit them in our office.  The original photos are then returned to the customer.

Do you offer custom designed headstones and cemetery markers?

- Yes, we are able to create just about any style and size of monument.  Custom pieces may create a small delay in having a drawing produced, due to the increased design elements that are required.

Do you offer quotes on custom designed headstones and cemetery markers?

- Yes, once we have in mind the size and shape of the upright headstone a customer is interested in, we will work to generate a quote for them in a timely manner.

Can I add a vase to a headstone or cemetery marker?

- You will want to check with the cemetery first, to determine if vases are allowed, and if they are allowed, what type of vase should it be i.e., cast bronze, granite, etc.  Once these factors have been determined the sales associate will work to incorporate the vase into the design of the grave marker or headstone.

Is is possible to use characters from a foreign language on my headstone?

- Yes, it is possible.   We ask that you supply "camera ready" text for languages that do not use the english alphabet.  Call 1-800-947-8232 with any questions or concerns.

Do you offer pet markers and headstones for pets?

- Yes.  Creating a memorial for a beloved pet is becoming more and more common.  Our pet markers can be viewed by CLICKING HERE.

Do you offer a guarantee on your headstones and grave markers?

- Yes, all of our memorials come with a Certificate of Guarantee which guarantees that the memorial is free of any natural defect, and should a defect develop, the headstone or cemetery marker would be replaced.

How long is the production time?

-Generally we tell our customers eight weeks.  It could be more or less, depending on the time of year, and the complexity of the memorial.

Product Questions- Ceramic Photos

Can I e-mail you the photo that I want made into a ceramic photo?

- Yes, you may e-mail photos to us.  If it is a scanned image we recommend scanning at a minimum of 300 dots per inch.  Often times customers send us their original photos in the mail, and we scan and edit them in our office.  The original photos are then returned to the customer.

Does the picture I submit need to be a photograph that was taken professionally?

- No, although the better the quality of the photograph the better the finished ceramic photo will look.  You may submit your pictures to us via e-mail, by CLICKING HERE, or sending the original in the mail.  We will look them over, and let you know how usable they are.

What happens if my ceramic photo is damaged?

-Our ceramic photos will be replaced for free, should they become damaged or vandalized. We do not pay for installing the new photo.

Do your ceramic photos fade over time?

- Our ceramic photos are guaranteed against fading, and should they fade, would be replaced for free.

How do I attach the ceramic photo to my headstone or grave marker?

- If the ceramic photo is being ordered at the same time as a tombstone or cemetery marker, we can recess the granite, and install the ceramic photo with silicone and epoxy.  If the ceramic photo is being attached to an existing headstone or cemetery marker, industrial strength double-sided tape is supplied.

Shipping and Installation Questions

I'm not from Iowa.  Can I order a headstone and have it shipped to a different state?

- Yes, we've shipped hundreds of memorials across the continental United States.  Contact us for a shipping quote to Hawaii and Alaska.

Is the shipping included in the prices of the headstones and cemetery markers on your website?

- No.  When you place a drawing request, a shipping quote will be given to you, based on the size of memorial you are interested in.  Many websites claim to have "free shipping," in most cases the cost of shipping merely has been rolled into the price of the memorial.  We invite you to shop around, and are confident that in many, if not most instances our memorial price plus shipping is less expensive than the sites that offer their memorials with "free shipping."

Where can my headstone or cemetery marker be shipped to?

- Most headstones and grave markers are shipped via common carrier and are delivered to a cemetery that is staffed and has normal business hours, or to a business address.  There is an additional fee for residential delivery.

Can a headstone or marker be shipped to another country?

- No.  We apologize, but at this time we are not set up for shipping monuments or any other items on our web site internationally.

What if my headstone, tombstone or cemetery marker is damaged during shipping?

- Most of the time our headstones and memorials are delivered undamaged.  However, we would urge the customer to have the cemetery open the crating and examine the headstone or grave marker, and have the truck driver make a note of any damage that exists, in case a claim needs to be filed.  Unless damage has been clearly noted on the paperwork at the time of delivery, the trucking company will not pay any claims.
